Don Paul, an American with a deep appreciation for fine spirits, first encountered tequila during a backpacking trip through Mexico’s vibrant towns and rolling agave fields. Like many, his initial impression of tequila was defined by its harsh, biting taste a drink often chased by lime and salt to mask its sharpness. But in the heart of Jalisco, everything changed. Don Paul tasted tequila straight from a small family distillery, and its smooth, rich character awakened his appreciation for the artistry behind the craft.
Returning to the United States, Don Paul was inspired to reimagine tequila for a new generation. He envisioned a spirit that honored the deep traditions of Mexican tequila making but was also smooth enough to be enjoyed on its own, without the need for a chaser. To achieve this, Don Paul traveled back to Jalisco, where he partnered with local agave farmers and master distillers to source the finest 100% blue agave.
